On a beautiful sunny afternoon on the 22nd of September, we happily welcomed Carter’s family and friends as they gathered to celebrate a huge milestone event – Carter’s first birthday!
It was a casual affair set in a Jungle Safari theme. The café was transformed once again with an abundance of green foliage complemented with gold and white accents.
By the door, guests were welcomed with a custom-made wooden sign which included animal die cut-outs. The tables were set with gold cuttlery and nappery, and leaf-print placemats. As centrepieces, there were arrangements of Monstera, Magnolia and Fern.
The arch over the buffet table was also adorned with Monstera, Magnolia and Fern. The dessert table on the otherhand was setup over two barrels accented by a lot of greenery. Overhead was a creative installation made of blush, white and gold coloured balloons. Cut wooden pieces were used for the dessert platters.
The food was of course the main event of the afternoon. Carter’s guests were treated to an impressive spread of both savoury and sweet treats.
At the buffet table, the party-goers made their way through an anti-pasto grazing station and had the difficult decision of choosing from a generous selection of tapas-sized dishes:
- Fish & Chips
- Chicken and Waffles
- Sushi Bowls
- Polenta & Mushroom
- Brisket Slider
For dessert, everyone was treated to a huge range of theme-inspired sweet treats. Guests had the choice of:
- Passionfruit Cups
- Animal Print Donuts
- Animal Print chocolate ganache macarons
- Vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with 3d animal toppers
- Lemon meringe petit four tart
- Lemon petit four tart
- Chocolate Pudding Petit four Pipa
- Orange and Almond Petit four Pipa
For the birthday celebrant, himself, Carter had a Chocolate Mud birthday Cake frosted in Vanilla buttercream and covered in 100s & 1000s. The cake was finished with custom-made animal cake toppers. It was quite an exceptionally-looking cake fit for a very special one-year old lad!
Everyone mingled and had a relaxing afternoon filled with grub and complementary champagne and non-alcoholic drinks served by our ever reliable staff. It was a memorable afternoon. We only hope Carter and his parents are able to look back and reminisce on how special this day was for them and everyone else who came to celebrate it with them.
